How do I apply red lipstick correctly?

We are often asked what to consider when applying red lips so that 1. nothing smears, 2. the kissable lips last extra long and 3. the lip contour looks beautiful.

In this step-by-step guide you will learn how to apply your red lipstick correctly:

We recommend that you exfoliate your lips regularly and apply a good lip balm to remove dead skin cells and give a nice, even finish. However, it is best not to use lip balm immediately before applying lipstick, as it will not stay on well. Instead, let it soak in for a little longer or apply it overnight.

Apply our cream concealer around your lips and blend it with our #8 concealer brush. Then mattify with a little powder. This will ensure that your lip contour looks better, the lipstick lasts longer and doesn't run. You can of course also use a suitable lip liner of your choice for contouring.

First, start in the middle with the upper contour and then press the upper and lower lip together. This will automatically stamp the contour. Then fill in the rest of the lip within the contour using our #15 lip brush. Try to stay in the corners of the inner lip contour, this will make the mouth look “friendlier” . The fine tip of the brush allows you to trace your lip contour precisely.

Beauty expert tip: For a long-lasting lipstick: First apply a thin layer of lipstick and "kiss" it with a tissue to press the color pigments into the skin. Then apply another layer of lipstick. If you make a mistake during application, it can be easily corrected with our Cream Concealer and the flat brush #6 or #5.

Speaking of which: All of our lipsticks are refillable and part of our sustainable refill system . If you run out of your lipstick color, don't throw it away, just replace the inner casing with a new refill.
