The no-makeup look is a makeup technique that makes your face appear bare even though several products are involved. It evens out minor imperfections and subtly accentuates the eyes and lips without being recognizable as makeup. In this article, we’ll show you step by step how to create the no-makeup look, how it differs from the nude look, and which products work best for achieving it.

The No Make-up look is a makeup technique that creates the appearance of bare but even skin, even though it may involve several products. Internationally, it is also known as “No-Make-up-Makeup.”
Unlike many beauty trends, the No Make-up look is not a seasonal phenomenon that disappears after a few months. It has become a staple of many everyday routines because it suits almost any occasion: the office, working out, or grabbing a coffee with friends.
The best part: you need neither many products nor much time. With a few targeted steps, the look comes together in just a few minutes.
The difference between a No Make-up Look and a Nude Look lies mainly in the colour palette and coverage. The Nude Look works with beige, brown, and Bronze tones. The Make-up can be visible, but remains subtle in colour. The goal is different with the No Make-up Look: as little coverage as possible and a finish that barely looks like Make-up. The Nude Look defines. The No Make-up Look stays more in the background.
For a no make-up look, you only need a few products:
This list is intentionally short. In the next section, we’ll show you exactly what you need each product for and how to use it correctly.
Every good Make-up routine starts with clean skin. Cleanse your face morning and evening with a gentle Cleanser to remove sebum, residue, and dirt particles before you begin your skincare routine.
Immediately after cleansing comes skincare: a moisturiser with sun protection, such as our Day Cream SPF 30, hydrates the skin while protecting it from UV rays and blue light. This is important because unprotected skin ages faster and looks less even—and because well-prepared skin is the foundation for any natural look, no matter how little Make-up follows.

For your complexion, you don't need a product with high coverage—in fact, quite the opposite. The goal is to even out the color, not create a mask. Our Skin Tint is especially well suited for this: Its featherlight texture melts into the skin and creates an even complexion without concealing it.
Apply the product in a thin layer using the #12 Foundation Brush, your fingers, or a sponge. Less really is more here: Build it up in thin layers rather than applying too much product from the start.
When it comes to concealer, choosing the right shade matters: For dark circles, it’s best to choose a shade that is slightly lighter than your complexion. For individual blemishes or redness, a shade that exactly matches your skin tone usually works better.
Apply the concealer only to specific areas, such as dark circles, the T-zone, or individual areas of redness, and blend it with your finger or a small Brush such as the #24 Concealer Touch-up Brush. This keeps the No Make-up look intact without making the problem areas look visibly covered.
Apply our Brow Mascara to your eyebrows as the first step. It shapes the brows, leaves no white residue, and doesn’t flake. If needed, fill in individual hairs with an Eyebrow Pencil.
Mascara for the lashes is optional for this look. If you want to use it, one subtle coat on the upper lashes is usually enough. This opens up the eyes without making the look appear like full Make-up.
When it comes to cheeks and contouring, the order is key: Apply Bronzer or contour to the cheekbones first, then blush to the apples of your cheeks, and finally Highlighter to the highest points of your face, such as the cheekbones and bridge of your nose.
This way, you build depth and freshness without one step covering up another.
Finish with the lips. A well-nourished base is important before applying color. A lip balm or lip care product prevents your lips from looking dry or chapped.
For the color itself, a gloss or our Cream Blush or Cream Blush Stick in a natural shade like rose or Apricot is all you need. Gently dab it onto your lips. The result: a fresh yet subtle touch of color that complements the rest of your look.

Sometimes even the no Make-up look feels like too much, and you want to leave the house without any Make-up at all. There are a few simple tricks to help you look good without Make-up, too.
The most important factor is your skincare: Well-hydrated skin with adequate sun protection automatically looks more even and fresher, even without any color. Cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF are therefore not optional on these days—they’re your actual Make-up.
And taking a break from Make-up isn’t just good for your schedule: On these days, your skin simply gets a little more room to breathe, without additional layers of product.
The no-Make-up look has two clear advantages that make a big difference in everyday life. The first is time: With just a few steps and no elaborate techniques, you’ll be ready much faster in the morning than with a full makeup look. The second is the number of products: Less really is more here—you don’t need ten steps, just a handful of carefully selected products that work well together.
The no Make-up look is a makeup technique that evens out your complexion and subtly emphasizes the eyes and lips without being recognizable as Make-up. Unlike the nude look, which deliberately works with beige and Bronze tones, the no Make-up look focuses on minimal coverage and a few targeted steps.
The key points at a glance:
The no-makeup look is a makeup technique that creates the appearance of bare yet even skin, even though several products are used.
The nude look uses visible beige, brown, and Bronze tones, whereas the no-Make-up look uses as little coverage as possible, making it barely recognizable as Make-up.
Cleanser, a moisturizer with SPF, a lightweight complexion product like Skin Tint, concealer, a brow product, Mascara, blush or Bronzer, and lip care are all you need for the complete look.
Yes. Applying concealer precisely to blemishes and using a lightweight complexion product can even out blemished skin without making the look appear covered up.
The quickest approach is to use a few targeted steps: well-cared-for skin as a base, a lightweight complexion product, concealer only where needed, defined brows, and a subtle touch of color on the lips.
