As you know, animal welfare is a topic that is very important to us at JACKS beauty line. That's why no animals are harmed in the production of our make-up brushes . Our brushes are all made with the finest synthetic hair and are therefore 100 percent vegan.
Even though the most obvious reason is clear (animal welfare!), there are many other reasons why we prefer synthetic brush hair. What are they? We have summarized the most important reasons for you here:
#1 – Feeling on the skin
The most obvious reason is clear: real brush hair can be very soft and fluffy depending on the animal hair, but the way the animal hair is obtained is very cruel. Often it is goats, squirrels, minks or badgers that have to suffer for it. The animals are either plucked alive or sheared, which causes stress and injuries to the animals. Or they are brutally killed beforehand. The animals are kept in cramped cages under terrible conditions. There are many reports that reveal how cruel such animal farms are.
Our synthetic brush hair is at least as soft and fine on the skin - you can use the brushes without feeling guilty!
#2 – Hygiene and cleaning
Animal hair has an irregular structure. This means that powder particles, dead skin cells, bacteria, etc. are deeply trapped. Despite cleaning, these particles can therefore remain in the hair. Synthetic brush hair, on the other hand, uses smooth fibers, which enables thorough cleaning.
#3 – Durability
Synthetic brush hair is much more durable. The hair retains its shape for a long time and does not dry out. Whereas natural hair tends to break and dry out over time after repeated washing and use and loses its shape.
#4 – Usage
Synthetic brush hair is suitable for any type of product: cream, gel, liquid and powder. In addition, synthetic hair uses significantly less product because it lies on the hair. Whereas natural hair brushes tend to absorb liquid and creamy products rather than distribute them well on the face. As a result, they use significantly more product.
Synthetic hair is also more suitable for allergy sufferers than natural hair.
