JACKS beauty line: Who we are and how we got started
JACKS beauty line is a female-founded beauty brand established in Berlin in 2011 by make-up artist Miriam Jacks and entrepreneur Lisa Buchholz. We develop vegan Skincare, Make-up, and hand-painted make-up brushes, made in Germany.
It all started with a make-up brush that Miriam hand-painted, simply for the joy of color. No business plan, no investor deck.
Miriam Jacks: The founder
Miriam Jacks is a make-up artist, beauty expert, and founder of JACKS beauty line. She has worked in the beauty industry for over 20 years and stands behind every product from the brand.
She believes make-up should be easy, fun, feel good, and give you what you need right now. That’s why JACKS beauty line offers digital and in-store advice, helping you find the few products that truly suit you, in shades for all skin tones through to the Dark Shades. These include the hand-painted Brushes from the JACKS Atelier, which the team is particularly proud of. Every make-up brush is one of a kind and hand-painted in our atelier.
Miriam represents the brand publicly, speaks on stages, and hosts the GLOWCAST Podcast.
Lisa Buchholz: The Entrepreneur
Lisa Buchholz is an entrepreneur, Co-Founder, and Managing Director of JACKS beauty line. She joined over ten years ago, initially to provide support; today, she runs the company together with Miriam.
Lisa thinks in numbers and structures. She keeps track of all departments and builds the processes that keep a growing company from falling apart. She is rarely in the spotlight, but carries much of what cannot be seen from the outside. Two roles that have little in common—and yet neither can be imagined without the other. Everything is decided together.
How JACKS beauty line came to be
JACKS beauty line began with hand-painted Make-up Brushes from Berlin. This craftsmanship has grown into a brand with Skincare, Make-up, and more than 40 employees.
For many years, Miriam and Lisa ran the company together before their breakthrough came in 2020. What has changed since then is the size. What has stayed the same: Every Brush is painted by hand, each one unique, with the same care as on the very first day. More than 17 steps go into making each one before it reaches you. For every Artist Collection Brush sold, we donate one euro to social projects.
Everything else was added because customers asked for it: first the Make-up, then a Skincare line that Miriam and her team worked on in Berlin for more than two years, formula by formula, until it was just right.
Berlin as home: The JACKS beauty line Store
JACKS beauty line is based in Berlin: This is where we hand-paint all our Brushes, develop Skincare and Make-up with an on-site laboratory, and where our store is located in Berlin-Friedrichshain.

Our mission: skincare and Make-up for everyone
JACKS beauty line develops vegan, dermatologically tested Make-up and Skincare in shades ranging from light to deep Dark Shades.
For us, Make-up is an expression, not a correction, which is why our complexion products care for your skin while giving it a healthy, glowy complexion. Our shades go up to N.10, developed with Rim Zemuye, make-up artist and expert in Dark Skin Make-up. Each shade is tested on real skin before going on sale.
